For two days, Kyiv’s Venetian Island turned into a testing ground, where athletes, military personnel, and amateurs tested their strength on the “Dyka Gonka Autumn” track. We have been cooperating with the organizers of the competition since 2022, so this time we were happy to take on the technical part of the event. Did everything go as we planned? About the event

On November 8 and 9, Kyiv hosted the “Dyka GOnka Autumn 2025” obstacle course. The renovated track on Venice Island brought together professional athletes, military personnel representing 30 brigades, as well as numerous amateurs and young participants.

The race route was a challenge: athletes had to overcome swamps, water obstacles, high walls and ropes.

The organizers prepared various formats for the race:

• PRO Dyka Mile — 1,6 km and 13+ obstacles;
• PRO — 5 km and 20+ перешкод;
• FUN Dyka Duo — 5 km and 20+ obstacles;
• PRO Dyka Team — 5 km and 20+ obstacles;
• Dyka Sprint — 500 meters and 10+ obstacles;
• FUN — 5 km and 20+ obstacles;
• Kids competitions.

The variety of distances allowed each participant to choose a route according to their abilities and desired level of difficulty.

The obstacle race was held for a charitable purpose: part of the funds raised were directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The partners of “Dyka GOnka” helped to form a prize fund of over 1.5 million hryvnias, which was distributed among the military teams:

• for the first place  — car from sponsor Winner;
• for the second place — prize money 200 thousand hryvnias;
• for the third place — prize money 150 thousand hryvnias.

Technical support from IKS

To allow the organizers to focus on planning and managing the competition, we took on key technical tasks.

• Set up the IKS online registration system and connected it to the organizers’ website so that participants could quickly and easily register for participation.
• Accompanied the registration of runners on site so that everyone could understand the procedure and get help if necessary.
• Prepared chips for athletes to accurately record the time and results of each participant.
• Installed and connected equipment to ensure reliable operation of all technical systems during the event.
• Started the competition and recorded the finish of the participants so that time tracking was quick and error-free.
• Published event results online so that runners and spectators could quickly familiarize themselves with the results.

The coordinated work of IKS significantly simplified the coordination of the event and allowed the organizers to focus on other important aspects of the event.

What equipment was used

To conduct the competition correctly and keep accurate records, we used specialized technical equipment.

• RaceResult HuTag transponders. Due to the large number of participants, we prepared 1,200 chips that recorded each athlete’s time and provided the ability to track results online on the IKS website.
• RaceResult decoders 5000s. To process transponder readings from all athletes, we connected 6 decoders so that they could read the data and accurately determine the time of completing the distances.
• Start system with speaker and electronic starting gun. Used for the start of the races and the synchronous start of the timing from the moment the signal was given.
• IKS-Box for networking. All equipment was connected using this device and processes were managed from start to finish.
• IKS video camers on finish line and obstacles. 7 cameras were installed to monitor the passage of obstacles by all participants.

Each athlete received accurate results, and spectators and organizers could watch the competition online, which made it much easier to control all stages of the sporting event.

What challenges did we face

The Dyka GOnka Autumn 2025 running competition was a challenge not only for the participants, but also for our technical team. As with any large-scale event, we faced some challenges that required quick response and coordinated work.

• Processed a large number of registrations.
• Prepared and sorted 1200 chips for all participants.
• Organized several starting locations and additional checkpoints.
• Controlled the course and obstacles using the video referee system.

However, thanks to the coordinated cooperation of the team and reliable equipment, we promptly resolved all operational issues. We are ready to continue supporting sports initiatives, using our experience and technical solutions to ensure that every race is fair and comfortable.
