The world of athletics continues to amaze with records and bright victories. Recent days have brought a number of landmark results in marathons, crosses and road races around the world – from Shanghai to London. We offer a brief overview of the most important events.

Shanghai (China, November 30):

Bridged Kosgei (Kenya) won the Shanghai Marathon with a course record and a Chinese record of 2:16:36. In the men’s category, the representative of Ethiopia Milkesa Mengesha won – 2:06:25.

London Battersea Park (United Kingdom, November 28):

Charlotte Dannatt set the track record at the FNUL x Adidas x Sports Shoes 5km race – 15:37. Taryn Rawlings finished second (15:41), third – Emily Haggard Kearney (15:42). In the men’s race, Jack Cavanagh won with a track record of 13:34.

Alcobendas (Spain, November 30):
Rodrigue Quiezera (Burundi) became the best at the Cross Internacional (8.04 km) – 22:58. Among women, the representative of Ethiopia Yenenesh Shimket won – 25:32.

  • Kunming (China): defeated Assefi Boki (2:08:49) and Meseret Belete (2:28:29).
  • Guadalajara (Mexico): Kenyans Sammy Keegan (2:15:09) and Euliter Jepchirchir (2:38:28) dominated.
  • Tunisia: Calvin Kimutai (2:13:06) and Tsehai Gebre (2:30:01).
  • Bangkok: Agunafr Bekele (2:14:27) and Younis Muchiri (2:39:27).
  • La Rochelle (France): Elvis Cheboy (2:09:31) and Bette Chepkeme (2:25:32).
  • Florence (Italy): Badr Jaafari (2:09:58) and Cega Desta (2:30:37).

Cross-country and national championships

  • Tilburg (Netherlands): Sarah Lahti won Warandecross (10 km) – 33:11.
  • Trieste (Italy): Clara Lucan won the Carsolina Cross (7.5 km) – 25:23.
  • Darmstadt (Germany): Elena Burkard won two titles at the German championship.
  • Hulshout (Belgium): Ruben Queringean sensationally defeated Isaac Kimeli.
  • Tel Aviv (Israel, November 28): Caravan Halabi-Kablan won the sixth title of Israeli cross country champion (7.8 km in 28:00). In the men’s race, he defeated Zemena Muchie (24:40).
  • Alexandria  (USA, November 27): Cameron Miller won the 50th Turkey Trot (5 miles) – 23:37.
  • Dana Point (USA, November 27): Sydney Gigabudey won the Dana Point Turkey Trot (10 km) – 29:44, among women – Makenna Myler (32:14).
  • Sacramento (USA, November 27):Spaniard Ero Doche became the best in the Sacramento Run to Feed the Hungry (10 km) – 28:57.
