Spartan races are dozens of obstacles, wave starts, a dynamic track and thousands of participants. For everything to work clearly, you need a reliable technical organization.
In this case, we will show how the IKS team provided technical support for the Spartan Ukraine series of sports competitions: what challenges they faced at different venues, what solutions they applied and what results they achieved for runners, judges and partners.

About Spartan Ukraine
Spartan is an international series of obstacle races that develops not only physical endurance, but also character. All events are held according to the same standards of Spartan Race, which includes Spartan Ukraine.
This year, the IKS team provided technical support for the following Ukrainian starts of the series:
- Spartan Race — May 17, 2025;
- Spartan Trail 10 km — July 19, 2025;
- Trifecta Weekend — September 13, 2025;
- Spartan Winter 2025 — December 6, 2025.
Each of these races had its own specifics: a different number of participants, distance formats and track logistics, which required an individual technical approach.

All participants of Spartan Ukraine invariably show confident physical fitness and focus on results. After each race, they receive well-deserved awards, and we record the official results.

Technical support from IKS
The IKS team has been cooperating with Spartan Race Ukraine for the third year in a row.The Spartan Ukraine series of events has become another example of successful collaboration and confirmed that properly selected technical solutions are key to the stable conduct of running competitions.
Despite complex logistics, a large amount of preparatory work and technical challenges, our team ensured reliable timing and uninterrupted operation of the systems throughout all events.

How we provided technical support for obstacle races
During each event, we worked according to a proven algorithm that allows us to ensure accurate timing, stable operation of systems and correct results for all participants.
- Reusable chips were numbered and sorted. For Spartan Winter 2025, we worked two days to prepare chips for 2300+ participants.
- Equipment was installed and configured so that all systems worked reliably during the event.
- Video equipment was installed to monitor the passage of obstacles.
- Provided real-time tracking of results and their timely publication.
- We promptly made changes to the data of participants and re-registered.
- We organized the collection and sorting of chips after the finish of the athletes.
This approach allows you to guarantee stable timing, transparent results and comfort for both organizers and athletes.
What equipment was used
To ensure accurate timing at large-scale events, we used professional solutions.
- Up to six RaceResult 5000s systems – to control the start, intermediate points and finishes to accurately record the time of each athlete.
- 2300+ reusable HuTag strap chips for reliable athlete identification and stable reading at all points.
- LED screens and clocks from IKS and RaceResult at the finish and start, so that participants and spectators can see the start countdown, distance time and finish results in real time.
After the end of the competition, all data was transferred to the Spartan international database, and each participant received an SMS with a personal result.
What challenges did you overcome
A large number of chips required clear logistics: they had to be issued quickly, accurately accounted for, and safely returned after the finish line. We implemented a well-thought-out accounting system that minimized the risks of data loss and delays.
Due to the complex configuration of the tracks and the format of wave starts, the key task was to accurately synchronize the timing. The team did an excellent job: the results were recorded without failures, and the participants did not face queues or delays.
Such an organization not only ensured impeccable technical implementation, but also contributed to the growth of trust in events. As a result, the conversion of participants increased: more than 2500 at one start.
