How Train.Red sensors work
The Train.Red sensor is a compact optical sensor that, thanks to the specially built-in NIRS (Near InfraRed Spectroscopy) technology, allows you to monitor the condition of the muscles during exercise. The sensor is put on the body, namely on the muscle that works during exercise, using an elastic mount.
What indicators do sensors measure:
- O₂Hb is hemoglobin bound to oxygen (how much oxygen the muscle receives);
- HHb — hemoglobin without oxygen (how much oxygen has already been given to the tissues);
- tHb is the total amount of hemoglobin in the capillaries (conditionally, the volume of blood in the measurement area);
- TSI is the index of tissue oxygen saturation as a percentage.
Thus, the device records changes in the level of oxygen saturation in muscle tissue in real time.
