Last weekend of May

Great Manchester Run in the women’s 10 km race was won by Slovenian Klara Lukan (30:58). In the men’s race, the best finish was the Ethiopian Selemon Barega (27:37).

In the half marathon in Launceston, Australia, as part of the McGrath Launceston Running Festival, Gafta Strintzos (1:00:41) and Isobel Butt-Doyle (1:08:46) won. In the 10 km races, Edward Marks (27:57) and Caitlin Scott (31:38) were the best, and both set personal bests.

In Stockholm, the winners of the marathon were Kenyans Edwin Kiptoo (2:10:10) and Rebecca Cheshire (2:30:58).

In České Budějovice, Czech Republic, Tereza Grochova won the half marathon with a result of 1:10:52.

Okpekpe 10 km in Nigeria was won by representatives of Ethiopia: Mamo Lema finished with a result of 29:37, and Silnat Bitwe won the women’s distance in 34:18.

In the marathon in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Kenyan runner Daniel Kiprono Sang (2:10:20) and Ethiopian Gelane Senbete (2:31:15) won.

In Madrid, Burundian Rodrigo Quiezera showed the fastest result in history at a distance of 10 km – 26:01, but due to the nature of the track, this result cannot be officially counted as a record. In the women’s race, Fatima Ouhaddou won (32:19).

In São Paulo, at the SP Challenge 10 km race, Nubia de Oliveira Silva (34:31) and Kenyan William Kibor (28:49) won.

In Arusha, Tanzania, the country’s record holder Magdalena Shauri won the half marathon with a time of 1:11:41. In the men’s category, John Tele won (1:04:13). Kenyans Leonard Kwemo (2:16:31) and Alice Njoki (2:40:39) won the marathon.

In the half marathon in Utrecht, Tineke Heveling (1:19:37) and Bas van Hooren (1:04:17) won.

The Irish half marathon champions were Heather Murphy (1:15:11) and Ryan Critch (1:04:51).

In Vienna, Kenyan Pyuriti Gitonga won the women’s 5K race with a personal best of 14:41. Julia Mayer won the 10 km race (33:34).

In Brussels, Patrick Nimubona of Burundi won the 20-kilometer race with a score of 59:47, and in the women’s start, Elisa Vancolen was the best (1:11:20).

In Yokohama, the Nittaidai Challenge Games 10,000 m race was won by Samuel Kibachi with a result of 27:39.97.

In Norway, Marianne Hilmarsen and Howard Langeland became the national champions in the half marathon.

In Albany, America, Katie Izzo confidently won the women’s 5K race with a result of 15:37.

Fourth weekend of May

The main event was the Cape Town Marathon, where the representative of Ethiopia Mohamed Esa showed a result of 2:04:55. It is the fastest marathon ever held on the African continent. Yihunilign Adane finished second (2:04:59) and Kenyan Calypus Lomway was third (2:05:06). Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge ran a marathon in Africa for the first time and clocked a time of 2:13:29 on his world tour. In the women’s race, the victory was won by the representative of Ethiopia Dera Dida (2:23:18).

At the marathon in Ottawa, Kenyan Elvis Cheboi won a sensational victory with a time of 2:09:22, ahead of Giseelev Ayana from Ethiopia by only a few seconds. Canadian Rory Linkletter finished third. The women’s marathon was won by the representative of Sweden Ababa Aregawi, who successfully debuted at this distance with a result of 2:23:12 and was ahead of her rivals by more than two minutes.

At the popular Boulder Boulder race in the United States, Rebecca Mwangi won the women’s race with a score of 32:33. In the men’s distance, Patrick Kiptoo won (28:35).

In Lanzhou, China, Herba Dibaba (2:11:52) and Haven Hailu Dessa (2:29:54) won.

In Lima, the marathon was won by Kenyan John Mburu Muiruri (2:10:20), and in the women’s category, Aberash Robi from Ethiopia was the first. In France, the half marathon was won by the representative of Djibouti Farah Ae with a result of 1:02:59.

At the European Cup in the 10,000 meters in Italy, Ilias Auani won with a result of 27:50.05, just short of the qualification standard of the European Championships. In the women’s race, Polish Elżbieta Glinka unexpectedly won, setting a personal record.

In Berlin, Belgian Jana Van Lent confidently won the 5 km race, and among men, Irishman Jack O’Leary won.

In Gothenburg, Sweden, the half marathon was won by Meraf Bakhta and Suldan Hassan, and in Japan, Kenyan athletes showed the best results at a distance of 10,000 meters.

Third weekend of May

In the Rimi Riga Half Marathon among women, Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye won with a result of 1:04:22 – this is one of the fastest results of the season. The second and third places were taken by Kenyan Sheila Chepkirui (1:06:01) and Uganda’s Stella Chesang (1:08:15). The men’s race was dominated by Kenyans, with Charles Matata winning with a personal best of 59:15, ahead of James Kipkogei (59:50). At the marathon distance, Ayantu Kumela from Ethiopia (2:26:40) and OSCE Abdeta (2:27:50), as well as Kenyan runner Calvin Cororia (2:08:58, personal best) won. At a distance of 10 km, Latvian Agathe Caune showed a result of 33:21. At the mile distance, Marta Livčane (5:06.9) and Arturs Medveds (4:09.4), who also became national champions, won.

In Karlovy Vary, the Spaniard Carolina Robles (1:10:45) and the Czech Damian Vikh (1:03:30), who set the best result among the representatives of the Czech Republic in the history of this start, won the half marathon.

In Salzburg, the marathon was won by Eva Vutti with a result of 2:36:22, among men Lucas Hollaus won (2:22:00).

In Casablanca, Morocco, Fantaye Adane from Ethiopia (31:00) and Moroccan Hisham Oulada (27:59) won at a distance of 10 km.

In Spain, in the city of Aranda de Duero, the winners of the road mile were Marta Mithans (4:47) and Ignacio Fontes (4:12).

Slovenian runner Jan Kokalj in Trieste updated the national record in the 10 km, overcoming it in 28:45.

At the marathon in Varna, the winners were Kenyan Bernard Too (2:22:11) and Bulgarian Marinela Nineva (2:42:10), who also won the national title.

In Radenka, Slovenia, Kenyans Chelangat Sang (2:34:17) and Derrick Chege (2:14:04, personal best) won the Three Hearts marathon. In the half marathon, Karen Chepkemoy (1:15:58) and Hillary Kimaiyo (1:05:29) celebrated victories.

In Helsinki, Alisa Vainio won the half marathon with a time of 1:09:39, just 9 seconds behind her own national record. In the men’s race, Latvian Dmitry Seiogins won (1:05:07).

In Ireland, Ella Fennelly (16:03) and Ben Guiden (14:27) became the champions of the country at a distance of 5 km.

In Prague, at the KPMG Night of Records tournament, Kristina Sasinek Maki (4:38.26) celebrated the victory in the mile, and Jack Kavanagh (13:46.70) and Simona Vrzalova (16:07.71) won at a distance of 5000 m.

In New York, Mexican Fatima Alanis (1:13:12) and Kenyan Abraham Longosiwa (1:04:33) won the Brooklyn Half marathon.

In Bangkok, the Thai Pongsakorn Suksawat won at a distance of 10 miles (55:38), and among women, the representative of Laos Lodkeo Intakumman (1:04:42) became the best.

In Kuala Lumpur, the Positive Energy Half Marathon was dominated by Kenyan athletes. Among men, Jimna Curia Kariuki won (1:08:04), and among women, Lucy Liavoga (1:19:34).

In Indonesia, in Jakarta, at the Telkomsel Digiland Run competition, Robi Sianthuri became the winner of the half marathon, and Irma Handayani (1:25:54) became the winner of the women’s competition. At a distance of 10 km, the best results were shown by Daniel Simanjuntak (31:11) and Novia Nouri Nirvani (36:29).

In Melbourne, Edward Marks won the 5 km race with a result of 13:37.

Second weekend of May

In the Polish city of Bialystok, Valentine Jebet won the half marathon with a result of 1:11:52, while in the men’s race Kennedy Kimutai was first (1:02:47).

In Valladolid, Javier Guerra won the 10 km race with a time of 29:01, ahead of the Ethiopian Workneh Fikri. Among women, Fatima Ouhadda won (32:53).

At the marathon in Montevideo, Kenyan athletes celebrated the victory: Zaphanna Cheruyot showed a result of 2:18:46, and Gladys Camboi – 2:39:07.

In Mahón, Spain, Idaira Prieto defended the title of national champion at a distance of 10,000 m (32:06.00), and Eduardo Menacho confirmed his last year’s success among men (28:07.36).

At the marathon in Rabat, Boki Diriba set a track record (2:07:52), and among women, Alemtsehay Asefa won (2:25:03). In the half marathon, the best were Irin Kimais and Jakub Labkira.

In Copenhagen, debutante Mercy Chepvogen won with a result of 2:22:08. In the men’s race, Tadesse Cassa won (2:08:26).

The winners of the Geneva Marathon were Patience Kimutai (2:30:45) and Collins Kemboi (2:08:52).

In Leiden, the Ethiopians Tigist Worku and Lemi Gerema won by setting personal records.

In Paris, Kenyan Anthony Kimtai, who originally played the role of pacemaker, sensationally won the marathon with a time of 2:09:31.

In Mainz, Dennis Kipkemoy set a new course record in the half marathon – 59:14.

In Piacenza, Kenyans Jedida Chepkemoi Sang and Amon Kiptoo won.

In Bucharest, Naason Kipkorir won the half marathon with a new personal best of 1:02:37.

At the Songkhli International Half Marathon, Yvin Chepkemoi and Harrison Muchira won.

In Stockholm, 46-year-old Hannah Lindholm scored a double triumph, winning the 10 km races and the half marathon.

In Troyes, France, Jimmy Gressier confidently won the national 10 km championship with a result of 27:47.

In Cheshire, Andrew Butchart set a track record at a distance of 10 km – 29:46.

The planned Absa Run Your City Cape Town 10K race in Cape Town has been cancelled due to difficult weather conditions and the risk of flooding.
