Last weekend, the competition took place in different countries, where athletes competed at distances from a mile to a marathon and showed high results.

State College (Pennsylvania, USA) hosted the IRONMAN 70.3 North American Triathlon Championship, which brought together a strong line-up of professionals and more than 1700 amateurs from all over the world. Victories in the prestigious competition were won by American Trevor Foley and Canadian Paula Findlay, who also scored the maximum number of points in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series.

In the city of Yakima (USA), the winners of the Downtown Yakima Mile race were Mia Cochran (4:29.75) and Anthony Camerrieri (3:49.34). The competition was held on a downhill track, which is not subject to official record registration.

At the marathon in Guiyang (China, WA Elite Label), Ethiopians Abduljelil Abdulvokil (2:15:13) and Fikrte Vereta (2:29:04) won. Their compatriots Haile Tigabu (2:15:55) and Kolole Mekashu (2:30:32) finished second.

In Kigali (Rwanda), course records were set during the International Peace Marathon. Kenyan Ivin Jeruto won the women’s race with a time of 2:35:35, ahead of Tegest Ayalev (2:36:15) and Tsega Desta (2:36:54). In the men’s race, Kefar Lumbasi Namutala (2:14:19) won, leading the entire Kenyan podium along with Shadrack Kimining (2:15:18) and Benard Kipkorir (2:16:22). Amos Kirui (64:16) and Angelique Ibishatse (73:29) won the half marathon.

In Jakarta (Indonesia, WA Elite Label), the best were Kenyan runner Kennedy Njogu (2:16:23) and Alemnesh Gerfa (2:36:54).

In Olomouc, Czech Republic, the victories in the half marathon (WA Label) were won by the Spaniards Carolina Robles (1:09:30, personal best) and Jorge Blanco (1:03:08).

In Zwolle, Netherlands, Kenyan athletes scored a double success: Cynthia Chepkwoni won the women’s race with a course record of 1:07:01, and Vincent Kiptoo won the men’s race with a personal best of 1:01:40. In Utrecht, Caroline Makandi Gitonga won the BIG5 race with a result of 14:26.

In London, The London 5000 races ended with victories: Megan Keith showed 14:49.22, and Aron Gebramariam personal best – 13:26.84.

In Lange, France, junior, representative of Ethiopia, Robe Dida won with a result of 30:49. Mekdes Voldu came second (30:56), just short of France’s record. The third and fourth places were taken by Bikile Amesu (31:12) and Bourgude Aduna (31:16). Algerian Souada Ait Salem finished 12th (32:58). In the men’s race, Frenchman Mehdi Frere won with a score of 27:44, ahead of Kenyans Felix Kibet and Andrew Kiptoo (both 27:45).

In Austria, Julia Mayer, the country’s marathon record holder, became the champion in the speed trail for the first time, covering a distance of 16.7 km with an elevation gain of 946 m in 1:31:41. This is her 28th victory at the national championships.

In Karlovac, Croatia, the Kenyans became the winners of the 10 km race: Lengen Lolkurraru showed 29:47, and Nyaboke Nyabochoa won among women with a result of 34:44.

A half marathon was held in Odesa, which brought together 3566 participants from 18 countries. At a distance of 21.1 km, Ivan Strebkov and Sofia Garmash won. The silver medalist among men was Dmytro Siruk, the bronze medalist was Mykola Nyzhnyk. At a distance of 10 km, Anatoliy Tonkonozhenko from Odesa won, and the prizes were taken by Igor Heletiy and Mike Ponomarenko from Kyiv. Dmytro Ivanov won at a distance of 5 km, and Ivanka Patsula won among women.
