This year, for the third time, the IKS team provided technical support for the Winged Spike athletics competition,  a children’s and youth tournament that unites young athletes on the way to great sports achievements. Today we will tell you how the competition was held and what technical solutions of IKS provided accurate timing and processing of results.

About the event

In 2026, the competition took place on May 26 at the stadium of the Youth Sports School in Berdychiv. About 300 athletes from the communities of Zhytomyr region and Vinnytsia region took part.

Boys and girls competed in the following age categories:

• U14 (born in 2013–2014);
• U16 (born in 2011–2012);
• U18 (born in 2009–2010).

The running competition program included distances of 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, mixed 4×100 relay and high jump.

Young athletes demonstrated good physical fitness, endurance and desire to win. During the competition, athletes competed for prizes in various categories, and the IKS team promptly recorded and published all the results on the platform.

The IKS team undertook the full cycle of technical support to ensure  that the organization of sports competitions was clear, uninterrupted and convenient for all participants in the process — organizers, judges and athletes.

During the preparation and conduct of the event, we:

• set up a web page for electronic registration of participants;
• processed athletes’ applications and formed an electronic database of competitions;
• entered the start and final results into the system;
• installed and configured the photo finish system;
• ensured accurate fixation and processing of the results of each start;
• organized an online display of results on the IKS website in real time.

Thanks to the comprehensive support of children’s competitions, participants received accurate official results immediately after the end of the disciplines, and coaches, team representatives and fans could follow the course of the competition online.

What equipment was used

To ensure accurate timing and correct operation of the referee system, the IKS team used professional equipment.

• EtherLynx 2000 photo finish camera — for accurate fixation of athletes’ finishes.
• The Lynx starting system is for synchronizing the starting signal with the timing system.
• The Gill wind meter is for automatic wind speed measurement.
• IKS clock screen – to display the current time and race results during the competition.
